The Board sets clear expectations concerning the group’s culture, values and behaviours. The directors understand the importance of leading by example, demonstrating professionalism and integrity and encourage communication and team spirit through meetings, team events and regular contact. The Company promotes Team Development and Team Alignment via its Optimal Operating process which encourages a consultative approach in the decision-making process. The office is an open-plan space which provides the opportunities for staff interaction at all times.

Each new employee receives a company handbook which outlines information on the company such as vision and values; policies and procedures; and code of conduct. Ongoing learning and support is provided to ensure continuous improvement of all employees. A performance appraisal is conducted yearly to identify areas for improvement and development.

Bowleven contributes to the Etinde CSR activities operated by NewAge (our operator) in Cameroon. Our development concept is considerate of environmental issues, for example we are not flaring gas on our oil rigs and therefore minimising CO2 gases that are released into the atmosphere (known as purposeless flaring). New Age, has policies and procedures in place which are aligned to our standards which are clearly demonstrated by their actions. Regular information on the operator’s activities provides an illustration of adherence to best practical environmental standards. As a result, there have been no loss of containment or oil spills in excess of one barrel and no incidents or accidents have been recorded during our well drilling projects.
