The Company’s focus is on Africa where it holds a combination of pre-development and exploration interests in Cameroon. The Group has a strategic equity interest in the offshore shallow water Etinde Permit (non-operated) in Cameroon.
The Etinde Permit (formerly block MLHP-7) was awarded an Exploitation Authorisation in July 2014 and is currently operated by NewAge. The Etinde appraisal drilling programme commenced in late May with the drilling of IM-6 and IE-4 appraisal wells completed in 2018. The JV partners are assessing options for a staged development of the liquids-rich discoveries on the acreage.
The Cameroon operations are managed through EurOil Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bowleven. EurOil has been operating in onshore and offshore Cameroon since 1999. It currently holds 25% equity interest in the Etinde Permit, offshore Cameroon.
